Center for Molecular Innovation and Drug Discovery

Design. Create. Innovate.

The Center for Molecular Innovation and Drug Discovery (CMIDD) is a Northwestern University Research Center that integrates chemistry and biology to enhance the overall academic drug discovery process.  CMIDD catalyzes academic drug discovery by providing technical expertise and leadership for investigators seeking to advance their research, forming interdisciplinary collaborations that will reduce barriers to scientific advances, and developing a vigorous education and outreach program within the Northwestern community and beyond.

Our mission is to:

  • Catalyze and enhance research focused on chemical biology and drug discovery.
  • Promote interdisciplinary activities and resources that increase understanding of physiological and pathophysiological processes relevant to therapeutic and diagnostic development.
  • Provide educational opportunities for the Northwestern community in the area of drug discovery, integrative chemical biology and related basic science interdisciplinary research.
